This week Thump will be showing us what a great rabbit he is and how he can jump on our Numberline. See can you create you own numberline at home on the floor (outside with chalk or just use paper) either way its all fun.
Number work Last week Thump looked at the number 5, this week he is looking at the number 4 see can you help him count all the ways to make 5 and 4...... he left out a few!! Also he has been caught singing again he is such a silly rabbit!

Shape

Money We are gonna look at money this week. Let’s look at the coins 1c, 2c, 5c coins. Even though we don’t use the 1c and 2c coins anymore it’s important for breaking up the 5c and counting within 5. Play shop with your child with price tags and use coins to pay for it and get back change. The Maths language we want is Buy, sell, spend, coins, cents and How much?
Make coin rubbings by placing paper over the coins and colouring using crayons make money boxes with 1 cent, 2 cent and 5 cent on them and let the children sort the coins into the right box.
Length
This week Charlie and Thump are using play dough that they made from scratch to create an awesome bug parade. Check out the video to see if you can hear any frog Singing?. Thump is one crazy rabbit!
Patterns
This week Thump is making patterns using the play dough we made earlier. See can you make patterns We would love a picture of the patterns you made.
Data We are going to look at our favourite farm animals, see can you make a pictogram with your family
we are going to look at a pictogram that was made in my house and see can you help Thump figure out which is the favourite and least favourite food in our house. Last week we created a pictogram See how Thump creates his by asking questions to find out which is the most popular fruit in our house and which fruit is the least popular. Try this activity in your house.
Linked to Aistear This week we will be reading the story of the very hungry caterpillar by Eric Carle. This will give us a great opportunity to put the days of the week into the correct order. See can you do as well as Thump in the video below. What is your favourite day of the week?
