Suggested Work for 8th - 12th June

This week, we want the children to think about how God created people. He created people and gave them all different gifts and talents. Every person has different gifts and talents. Everyone's gifts and talents are important. Chat to your child about their God-given gifts and talents. Share with them what gifts and talents you have. Watch these videos below.

2.4 Theme 9, Lesson 1 Poem - I am unique from Grow in Love by Veritas on Vimeo.

Suggested activities:
  • Draw a picture of the gifts and talents has God given you and write a sentence about your gifts and talents.
  • Write a poem about your gifts and talents or about what makes you unique.
  • Write your own prayer of thanksgiving for your gifts and talents.

Suggested Work for 18th - 22nd May

May is the month of Mary. We make a special effort to remember Mary during this month.

We can remember Mary in lots of ways:
  • Say a prayer to Mary
  • Say the special Hail Mary Prayer
  • Draw or colour in a picture of Mary
  • Set up a May alter and put a picture of Mary there with a few flowers from the garden
  • Listen to a song about Mary

Here is a link to a template sheet to use as guidance to write out your own special prayer to Mary and you might like to draw a picture of Mary too.

Prayers for Communion

Prayer Before Communion
Lord Jesus, come to me.
Lord, Jesus, give me your love.
Lord Jesus, come to me and give me yourself.

Lord Jesus, friend of children, come to me.
Lord Jesus, you are my Lord and my God.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Prayer After Communion
Lord Jesus, I love and adore you.
You’re a special friend to me.
Welcome, Lord Jesus, O welcome.
Thank you for coming to me.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, O thank you
For giving yourself to me
Make me strong to show your love
Wherever I may be.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask you to stay
Close by me forever and love me, I pray.
Bless all of us children in your loving care
And bring us to heaven to live with you there.

Im ready now, Lord Jesus,
To show how much I care.
I’m ready now to give your love
At home and everywhere.
Amen.

Prayers for Reconciliation

Act of Sorrow

O my God, I thank you for loving me.
I am sorry for all my sins, for not loving others
and not loving you.
Help me to live like Jesus and not sin again.
Amen

Prayer for Forgiveness

O my God, help me to remember the times when I didn't live as Jesus asked me to.
Help me to be sorry and to try again.
Amen

Prayer after Forgiveness

O my God thank you for forgiving me.
Help me to love others.
Help me to live like Jesus asked me to.
Amen

The Confiteor

I confess to almighty God
and to you my brothers and sisters,
that i have greatly sinned,
In my thoughts and in my words,
In what I have done and in what i have failed to do,
Through my fault, through my fault, through my grievous fault.
Therefore, I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin,
All the angels and saints,
And you, my brothers and sisters
To pray for me to the Lord our God.
Amen
