Chrome Music Lab Experiments

Chrome Music Lab lets you experiment with music.
Click on the picture to access Chrome Music Lab.
We used the song maker to draw pictures and see what sounds the pictures made. As we are learning all about the Seashore in SESE, we drew a picture of a jellyfish to sea what sound it would create. Why not draw some other animals that live in the sea and see what sounds they make. You could also try write your name to see what sounds it creates.

'Baba Yetu' is a song in Sawahili.

"Baba yetu" means "our father".

This song is the prayer 'Our Father'.

Can you remember the prayer in English?

Ukulele with Aidan

Even if you don't have a ukulele at home you can follow along to these music lessons with Aidan, made especially for our class. If you do have a ukulele, watch to the end for some ukulele practise.

Make Your Own Rainstick

Seeing as we are learning all about the rainforest this week, why not make your own rainstick instrument.

All you will need is:
  • a cylinder (e.g. a kitchen roll, tinfoil roll, clingfilm roll, pringles tub etc)
  • some tinfoil to put inside
  • rice (or other small dried kernels or pasta broken up into small pieces)
  • sticky tape
  • materials to decorate it however you like

You can watch the video below to see how they made theirs.

We have been doing great at learning to play the Ukulele this year. If you are lucky enough to have one at home that you can practice with then be sure to check out the Ukulele Licence videos below or on their YouTube channel.
