Tricky word of the week

Monkey has a new word. It is tricky let’s learn it together. He also Wants to show you all the tricky words that he knows.

Blending section

Moto-Moto has some words that we can blend together. Let’s see can you do them. Moto-Moto’s new words all come from our new reader for this week “Nog in the fog” the third story called Sam gets a shock.

Charlie wants to show us a game with our diagraphs (our sounds that two letters). They are hard but it can be fun to play this game.
Charlie had been working really hard on his “ot” family, at” family and at the “og” family and the “it” and "ig" family. See can you sound out all these words with him.

We have a new Aistear theme for the next couple of weeks and it’s The zoo.
Hope you like this book its called Curious George and lets see what happens when a very curious little monkey visits the zoo..
Read the below story with your child. Ask them to retell your the story.

For homework nights the children would b getting books this week to practice their sounding out. This can be done through the Oxford Owl online for this week. Follow the instructions and search for the two books shown.
This week I have picked two more books a blending book (see picture below) and Sam gets a shock which is the third story in Nog in the fog. Your child should give it a go at reading the words themselves by using their blending skills and the video in the blending section.

Multi-Sensory Writing

Practice your letters in flour/shaving foam/outside in the mud
Practice the two letters f and b like Sad Sam and try to write your name and practice some other letters too

 Charlie was feeling really funny and made the letters d and g using grapes!! He is such a funny puppy. Let’s see can you do the same.
Charlie also used the Playdough we made to make our letter m See can you do that. Also lets see can you make your name using playdough!!

Free-writing
